The Solutions Business segment manufactures and sells polymers for concrete admixtures, glycol ether, secondary alcohol ethoxylates, water soluble polymers, intermediates for pharmaceuticals, electronic information materials, iodine compounds, resins for adhesives/paints, ethyleneimine derivatives, processed adhesive products, and automotive catalysts, as well as De-NOx catalysts, dioxins decomposition catalysts, equipment for waste gas treatment, wet air oxidation catalysts, and materials for batteries. It also provides acrylic esters, maleimides, cyclic amides, initiators; water-based, solvent based and soluble polymers; inorganic and organic composite fine particles; and liquefied gas and fuel cell materials. In addition, the company produces and markets industrial materials, civil engineering and construction materials made of synthetic rubber latex or acrylic emulsion as base; and acrylic emulsion and fine products. The company was formerly known as Nippon Shokubai Kagaku Kogyo Co., Ltd. and changed its name to Nippon Shokubai Co., Ltd. in 1991. Nippon Shokubai Co., Ltd. was incorporated in 1941 and is headquartered in Osaka, Japan.
